LG Stylo 4 box points to a tall 6.2" screen, Q Lens-enabled camera and DTS:X sound 11 JUNE 2018 A smartphone stylus is a rare sight, especially when we’re not looking at Samsung’s Galaxy Note. Rival LG has approached the market from the other side – the entry level – and will soon unveil the LG Stylo 4. It's a  version of the LG Q Stylusα  that was unveiled last week. The previous Stylo phone, the  3 Plus , was smaller despite its "plus" name. This one joins the tall aspect ratio screen movement with 6.2” 1080p+ screen. The stylus is capacitive, so the screen doesn’t feature and extra digitizer. The LG Stylo 4 is powered by an unnamed Snapdragon chipset with a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor (The S450 is a likely candidate). It has 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB storage (21 GB user available), plus a microSD slot. Note that the Q Stylusα has 3 GB of RAM. The phone will launch with Android 8.1 Oreo.         LG Stylo 4 box reveals all the details of the ...

Sony releases Android P beta 2 for the Xperia XZ2

Image
Sony releases Android P beta 2 for the Xperia XZ2 11 JUNE 2018 Google released  Android P beta 2  a few days ago and Sony didn’t take long to prepare a version for its  Xperia XZ2 . If your phone is on the first beta, you’ll get a notification to install beta 2 over the air. The update corrects some issues with calls – mics sometimes stopped working and the call volume was adjusted. Several connectivity issues were fixed, including 4G+ crashes, tethering instability and GPS failures. Also, wireless charging should work without a hitch now, exFAT microSDs should work properly too. The Night Light feature (Android's blue light filter) should trigger correctly now, too. In short, this update will make life much easier in the beta. There are probably still issues lurking around, so you probably don’t want to use Android P beta 2 as your daily driver. But if you do, head over to the  Source  link below. Source

Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) in for review

Image
Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) in for review 11 JUNE 2018 At one point they were on the verge of extinction but with the Galaxy lineup getting increasingly overcrowded the sixes are back in the game. The  Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) just landed in our office for a review, but we are yet to find out who it might be targeted towards. It packs a contrasty 5.6-inch Super AMOLED panel. Better still, one in the trendy, extra-tall 18.5:9 aspect ratio. However, its native resolution is only HD+. That's kind of odd on a €300 phone. In comparison the  Galaxy A6+ (2018)  offers a bigger 6-inch display of FullHD+ resolution, as well as a dual camera setup for just €60 extra. Speaking of power, the Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) is based on the Exynos 7870. A tried and tested octa-core CPU built on an efficient 14nm manufacturing process. In the  Galaxy J7 (2016) , it managed to achieve 101 hours of endurance with a battery of just 3,300 mAh capacity. That would mean we can expec...

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 Pro is now having its turn in the lead, dethroning last week's champion - the Mi 8. Meanwhile the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro staged an amazing fightback to capture the last step on the podium. The OnePlus 6, Samsung Galaxy J6 and Nokia X6 occupy the following three spots just as they did last week. In seventh we have another new face - the newly announced Lenovo Z5, while the Galaxy A6+ (2018) climbed two spots to capture eight. Yet more new arrivals are the Xiaomi Redmi S2, which got ninth, and the Oppo F7 that made a return to the chart to capture the last available spot. This means two members of the new Xiaomi Mi 8 family didn't make the cut this week - the Xplorer edition and the SE model are both out. Another phone by the Chinese manufacturer to be relegated was the Mi 6X and it ...
